Leeds Rhinos chief executive Gary Hetherington has paid tribute to captain Kevin Sinfield following his man of the match display in their Grand Final win over Warrington.

Sinfield, who did not miss a single attempt at goal during the play-offs, scored a try and kicked four goals as Leeds upset the odds and toppled Warrington 26-18 at Old Trafford.

The 32-year-old nearly came to a premature end twice. Firstly, he was hurt in a two-man tackle early in the match before a worrying clash of heads with Warrington hooker Michael Monaghan in the second half.

Sinfield has now helped Leeds to six Grand Final victories in eight seasons and Hetherington believes his achievements in the game will be immortalised.

"He never ceases to amaze," said Hetherington. "I think Kevin will go down as one of the immortals of the sport.

"His achievements are quite remarkable. He's a great personality and epitomises everything about the Leeds Rhinos team."

Veteran forward Jamie Peacock believes Sinfield is one of the best kickers in world rugby.

"They put pressure on him but he keeps doing it, he's brilliant," said the ex-Bradford Bulls man.

"He's the greatest kicker in either code in this country, probably the world, under pressure and he nails every kick. He's fantastic for the team."
