Warrington coach Tony Smith has confirmed Ben Westwood will not be fit for Saturday's play-off elimination semi-final against Hull FC.

Back rower to miss elimination semi-final

Warrington coach Tony Smith has confirmed Ben Westwood will not be fit for Saturday's play-off elimination semi-final against Hull FC. The influential back rower missed has missed all three games since suffering medial knee ligament damage in the Challenge Cup Final victory over Leeds Rhinos at Wembley last month. Wolves can ill-afford anymore play-offs defeats in the wake of their loss to St Helens having finished second in the table although there has been some positive news for Smith. The former Leeds and Huddersfield boss is boosted by the availability of forward Ben Harrison following a knee complaint.

Risk

"Not this week for Bennie Westwood," Smith told the Warrington Guardian. "It would be too much of a risk for this week. If we get past this week I reckon Bennie will be very close for the week after. "Ben Harrison will be right this week and comes back into the squad. He just wasn't quite right last weekend."
