Green and McDonnell set to miss final games

Hull KR coach Craig Sandercock doubts whether Blake Green and Shannon McDonnell will play for the club again this season. Both are sidelined with knee injuries and are losing their fight to regain full fitness before their final Super League clash against London on September 8. Green retains an outside chance of featuring against the Broncos although the club's Australian boss is not hopeful of a speedy recovery. McDonnell is on the mend, albeit slowly, and Sandercock only sees him playing for Hull KR in the unlikely event they win a play-off place with a top-eight finish.

Update

"Blake's injury is responding slower than we hoped," Sandercock told the Hull Daily Mail. "He may possibly be ready for the London game next week but I doubt it. I also doubt if we will see Shannon play again this season. "Shannon was always going to be a six to eight week injury but it is progressing slowly. "He may return for the play-offs if we get there."
