Leeds Rhinos target Tim Moltzen has agreed a new three-year deal with National Rugby League club the Wests Tigers.

The Super League champions were linked with the versatile 23-year-old with experienced full-back Brent Webb departing at the end of the season.

However, Moltzen, who had been out of contract, has opted to stay with Sydney-based club.

"It's good to have some security at the club I love and the chance to keep playing with some of my closest mates."

Moltzen agreed to join St George Illawarra last year only to renege on the deal and he has admitted the off-field drama affected his confidence, issues he has now dealt with.

Happy

"It's good to have some security at the club I love and the chance to keep playing with some of my closest mates," stated Moltzen.

"It was tough heading out to that game at Kogarah and then losing the game made it worse.

"Everything that happened in the off-season got to me a little bit.

"I went into my shell and let it affect me, which is why I am happy with nutting this out and have a new contract."
