Darrell Goulding: Eager for Wigan to return to Wembley
Wigan Warriors centre Darrell Goulding is desperate to play in this year's Challenge Cup final after missing out last season.
The 24-year-old was Wigan's 18th man as they beat the Leeds Rhinos 28-18 at Wembley last August.
Wigan are 80 minutes away from a return trip, with the Rhinos standing in their way when the teams go head-to-head at Huddersfield's Galpharm Stadium on Saturday.
"To see the lads do it last year, I was made up for them all but it is something I want to be a part of this year."
Darrell Goulding Quotes of the week
Goulding was not surprised to miss out last year having struggled with a knee injury, although he is desperate to be involved this time around.
"To see the lads do it last year, I was made up for them all but it is something I want to be a part of this year," he told the club's official website.
"Madge [Michael Maguire] told me early in the week of the final that I wasn't playing, to be honest it wasn't a surprise, I had been struggling with my knee all year and hadn't played."
Wigan have got the better of Leeds twice already this season, but Goulding is taking nothing for granted this weekend.
"Leeds are always one of the clubs we seem to have great games against, Leeds have been the team for quite a while as one of the dominant sides in Super League," he continued.
"We have played them in some quite big games recently and we are under no illusions this will be the toughest game of the season for us.
"We will have a big job on Saturday, Josh and I will probably come up against Ablett and Hall, he (Hall) has been up there for a couple of seasons now as a top try scorer but if we do are job we are confident we will do well."
