Luke George: Aiming to help Giants take the extra step

Huddersfield Giants back Luke George says he is excited about playing for his hometown club again wherever he is selected.

The 24-year-old, who came through the academy set-up at the Giants, has enjoyed pre-season training at the Galpharm having signed from Wakefield.

And although George's position for Friday's friendly against Castleford has yet to be confirmed, the new recruit is confident he will perform wherever he is placed.

"I really can't wait to get out there against Castleford on Friday," he told the club's official site.

"It's a bit of a while since I played my last game and I ended last season with a bit of an injury so pre-season has gone really well.

Settled

"I don't know where my first choice position will be.

"I'll play where I'm put to be honest with you; wherever they see me fit to play then that's what I'll do.

"I'm comfortable with my handling, so I don't mind either way, either on the wing or centre."

George is one of three Wildcats players to have made the switch to Huddersfield, joining former team-mates Scott Grix, Danny Brough and Dale Ferguson.

"I think I've settled into the club well," he said. "We all get on really well and a few of the lads are from Wakefield so I know what they're about.

"The coaching set-up and everything's changed from what I'm used to and I've been learning a lot since I've been here."
