Castleford stand-off Rangi Chase, a leading candidate for Super League's Man of Steel award, is facing a threat to his ever-present record after being summoned to appear before the Rugby Football League's disciplinary committee on Tuesday.
The New Zealander has been charged with a grade B offence of punching during his side's 34-30 victory over Bradford on July 10.
Bradford hooker Matt Diskin is also facing a grade B charge of using his knees on Castleford winger Richard Owen in the same match.
The pair were cited by the RFL's match-review panel, which also issued formal cautions to Mark O'Meley (Hull), Patrick Ah Van (Bradford), Francis Meli (St Helens) and Julien Rinaldi (Wakefield) for incidents in last weekend's engage Super League programme.
