Hull KR have suffered another injury setback, with Shaun Briscoe set to be absent for up to two months because of a knee injury.

More injury woe for Hull KR as full-back faces two months on the sidelines

Injury-hit Hull KR have suffered another setback after it was revealed that Shaun Briscoe will be missing for up to two months with a knee injury. The full-back limped out of the Robins' 34-16 loss to St Helens on Friday night after landing awkwardly following a mid-air collision with Chris Flannery under a high ball. Rovers are already missing the influential trio of Michael Dobson, Clint Newton and Mick Vella. Coach Justin Morgan said: "He has done his posterior cruciate ligament. It is a couple of months at least. "It is not the worst one but it is not repaired surgically these days. They just have to rehab it. Jason Netherton also picked up a groin strain but carried on. "Josh Hodgson has got a bit of a bang on the shoulder but is okay and a few other blokes took a few knocks, so it was a fairly expensive day in terms of players."

Huge miss

Morgan is refusing to blame injuries for a lack of form that has brought six defeats in eight games so far this season. He added: "Michael Dobson is a huge miss for us. He is our little general and it is a big blow. "Likewise, Clint Newton. If you had asked me at the start of the year which two players wouldn't I want to lose, it would be those two. And we have lost them both at the same time. "But that is rugby league. We are not going to sit here and bang on about injuries. That is the way it goes."
