England prop goes under knife to repair damaged shoulder

England forward Sam Burgess has gone under the knife to repair the shoulder injury he suffered during the Four Nations Series. The South Sydney prop picked up the injury during England's win over Papua New Guinea in Auckland in November. Burgess was initially told that surgery would not required, but the problem has not been healing as quickly as expected and he had to go under the knife. The former Bradford Bulls player will start his rehabilitation in four weeks' time and is expected to be ready for the start of the new NRL season in March.
