Olivier Elima will leave Catalans Dragons at the end of the season, with Bradford set to sign the second rower.

Carlaw commits future to French club, signs contract extension

Catalans Dragons have confirmed Olivier Elima will leave the club at the end of the season when his current contract expires. The Dragons have broken off negotiations with the 27-year-old, who is the captain of the French national team, over a new deal. Instead the former Castleford and Wakefield second rower is expected to link up with former Catalans coach Mick Potter at Bradford. "The club has made two proposals to Olivier, who declined to respond to them," said Catalans managing director Christophe Jouffret. Steven Bell, Brent Sherwin, Dimitri Pelo and Kane and Andrew Bentley are also heading for the exit, while Dallas Johnson is poised to clinch a return to the NRL with North Queensland Cowboys.

Carlaw extension

Meanwhile, the Dragons have announced that former Australian Test forward Dane Carlaw will be staying on after handing him a new contract. The former Brisbane Bronco will be part of an overhauled squad in 2011 under the leadership of new coach Trent Robinson. "I still feel good physically for one more season in Super League," he said. "We also had a difficult season and I want to leave on a good note." Carlaw will be joined in Perpignan by hooker Ian Henderson and scrum half Scott Dureau, with further signings expected after a disappointing season.
