Warriors winger to gain further experience in Championship

Winger Shaun Ainscough has joined Championship club Widnes on a dual-registration after playing for Wigan last week. The 20-year-old was recalled from a loan spell with Castleford to help cover for a spate of injuries, but the Warriors went down 38-26 to Harlequins. But with Castleford no longer needing him, the youngster will enjoy more first-team action with Widnes - although he will not be available for the Challenge Cup match between the two sides next week. "We are grateful that Shaun has the chance to re-join Widnes Vikings," said Wigan coach Michael Maguire. "The deal worked well for both parties earlier in the season and we are pleased the opportunity is available again for Shaun to work under Paul Cullen and play Championship rugby league." Widnes have also acquired the services of Wigan's 19-year-old prop Ben Davies on a dual registration after the expiry of his month's loan at the Stobart Stadium.
