Former Great Britain winger Gareth Raynor has become the third former Hull player to join the Crusaders.

The 31-year-old Raynor, who was released by Hull on Boxing Day, joined up with former team-mates Tommy Lee and Jamie Thackray at the Racecourse Ground on Thursday.

The former Leeds three-quarter, who has scored 101 tries in 189 Super League appearances, played the last 14 matches of last season for Hull after recovering from a foot injury.

Raynor, who had 12 months left on his Hull contract when he was released, won six caps for Great Britain and scored the match-winning try in the 2006 Tri-Nations win over Australia in Sydney.

He is the ninth confirmed signing for the Crusaders and takes their new-look squad to 23 as coaches Brian Noble and Jon Sharp step up the side's preparations for their opening match against Leeds.

"The squad is coming together nicely now," said Sharp. "Gareth arrived today and he is fitting in very well already.

"We had Vince Mellars join us earlier in the week too. We've got a good squad here and we're preparing well for the Leeds Rhinos game on Friday week."
