Wigan have ended speculation about Phil Bailey's future after the centre penned a one-year extension at the DW Stadium.
The 29-year-old has agreed a new deal with the club for the 2010 season despite fears that injury could end his time with the Warriors.
Bailey's original three-year-deal expired at the end of November and doubts were cast on whether the Australian would be offered a new contract after missing the last two months of the Cherry and Whites' 2009 campaign with an Achilles problem.
But coach Michael Maguire has kept hold of the versatile centre, who can also play in second-row, and hinted the former Cronulla-Sutherland man could be offered a another deal in Super League next year.
The newly-appointed Warriors boss said: "Phil is a great player to have in your squad and I am pleased he is with us for 2010 and possibly beyond. He is wholehearted and committed and has a great work ethic."
Bailey added: "I am delighted to have signed a new contract having thoroughly enjoyed my time so far with the Warriors."
"The club have been great to me, I love the town and the fans have been fantastic."
