Stobart Stadium and Halliwell Jones to host August's semi-final ties

Widnes and Warrington have been selected to host the Carnegie Challenge Cup semi-finals in August. Widnes' Stobart Stadium will be the venue for the first match between Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves on Saturday, August 8, at 2.30pm. Hot favourites and holders St Helens will then meet Huddersfield Giants at the Halliwell Jones Stadium at 4pm the next day. The semi-finals are a repeat of the line-up from 2004, when Wigan beat Warrington 30-18 and St Helens defeated Huddersfield 46-6. Saints went on to beat their-arch rivals 32-16 in the final at the Millennium Stadium. St Helens are this time set to appear in a record ninth consecutive semi-final and are aiming to lift the cup for the fourth year in a row.
