Veteran delighted to help Rhinos win on his 300th appearance

Keith Senior was delighted to put in a man-of-the-match performance on his 300th appearance for Leeds to help the Rhinos get back to winning ways against Hull. The veteran centre ran in two tries in the 46-16 victory at Headingley on Tuesday night. While pleased with his own performance in such a milestone game, Senior believed it was essential that the Rhinos got back to winning ways after successive home defeats to Salford, Harlequins and St Helens. Senior, who is one of only five players to have figured in every season of Super League, now wants the Rhinos to build on the victory and go on a winning run.

Really enjoyable

He said: "It was one of those games that was really enjoyable. "It could have been one of those games where I got four or five tries but, to get two, I am really pleased with and it was a great way to cap a great win. "The important thing was getting back to winning ways at Headingley, that's something that we focused on in training and something we spoke about, and to get my 300th game as a Leeds players is definitely a great achievement. "To cap it off with the man-of-the-match is something that I'm very proud of. "It's always nice to score tries and I thought we played some good rugby today which was the most important thing. "It was an enjoyable evening all round, the boys enjoyed defending and attacking and that's one of the important things that came out of the game."
Positive
After being knocked out of the Challenge Cup by holders St Helens, Senior believes the Rhinos must use the time off to good effect before travelling to face the Catalan Dragons on June 6. He said: "We get a week off to rest the body up again. We've got to turn the negatives, from not being in the Challenge Cup, into a positive and get everybody right and fresh and raring to go for the week after. "We've had a few wobbles this year, which every team goes through, and hopefully that's our low patch out of the way and we can build on finishing the season on a high."
