Jerome Guisset will captain Catalans Dragons when they face Hull KR on Sunday in the absence of injured skipper Greg Bird.
Bird suffered a torn abductor in the Dragons' 38-6 victory over Salford on Saturday which will keep him out of action for around a month.
The 25-year-old was already ruled out of the Hull KR contest as he is due to face charges of assault in an Australian court on Friday.
The Perpignan club currently have numerous injury woes, with leading-scorer Thomas Bosc picking up a shoulder injury and Jason Ryles ruled out for three to four weeks due to a torn quad.
Catalans coach Kevin Walters hopes that Bosc will return to the squad for the Dragons Murrayfield meeting with Super League champions Leeds Rhinos a week on Sunday.
But the absence of Bird and Ryles come as huge blows to the in-form Dragons, who face a crucial run of matches against Leeds and St Helens in the next six weeks
In more encouraging injury news, forward Jamal Fakir is close to a return from a hand injury and prop David Ferriol is expected to start against Rovers despite having thumb trouble.
