Castleford have confirmed that hooker Ryan Hudson fractured his arm in Monday's 28-6 win away at Warrington.
Jones believes play-offs are a real possibility at the Jungle
Castleford will have to do without captain Ryan Hudson for "some weeks" after it was confirmed he fractured his arm against Warrington.
The hooker was hurt in the Easter Monday win at the Halliwell Jones Stadium and will certainly miss Sunday's clash with St Helens.
It is not yet known exactly how long Hudson will be out of action for with the club saying on their website that they are awaiting further news over the injury.
The loss of the 29-year-old is a further blow for the Tigers. They are already without second-rower Dean Widders due to a torn calf.
Brett Ferres, James Evans and Chris Feather also suffered knocks in the impressive 28-6 triumph over the Wolves.
Despite their injury problems, Castleford, who finished with the wooden spoon last year, currently find themselves in fifth place in the Super League table.
Play-off ambitions
Stuart Jones, who is hoping to recover from a rib injury in time to play against leaders St Helens on Sunday, believes the club can go on and reach the play-offs after such a good start to the campaign.
"If we fulfil our potential we can hopefully make the top eight but we have still got a long way to go. We have made a good start," he said.
"Saints will be a good test of where we are, a good yardstick. We are doing quite well."
The busy Easter programme has taken its toll on the Tigers' squad, though, after they had to play two games in the space of four days.
"It's a bit daft really," the 27-year-old added. "You should just play one game, either on the Good Friday or Easter Monday.
"A lot of players are getting injured. The game is so fast and physical and it is hard to recover."
