Aspinwall: Month out
Huddersfield Giants have seen two more players confined to the treatment table, with winger Martin Aspinwall ruled out for a month while Andy Raleigh faces a fortnight out.
The Giants already have the likes of prop Eorl Crabtree, second-rower Simon Finnigan and hooker Shaun Lunt out injured, and now they will be joined by two more stars.
Aspinwall tore a calf muscle during the Giants' 24-20 defeat at home against Hull on Friday night, and he will have to sit out the next month.
Second-rower Raleigh is out for two weeks after dislocating his finger, but that is good news for the 27-year-old, who initially thought it was a fracture.
Coach Nathan brown will now have to reorganise his side for Saturday's trip to Castleford and the next few games, with two more of his first-choice players missing out.
"We're definitely going through our fair share of heartache on the injury front but so are other clubs as well," Brown said on the club website.
"There's no doubt it's going to test the quality of our squad but I believe we're more than capable of overcoming this number of losses and will continue to be competitive.
"Initially, we did fear he (Raleigh) could be out for a fair amount of time, so to be told he should be back in a couple of weeks is as good as we could have hoped.
"Unfortunately, Aspy's going to be a bit longer, which is disappointing for everyone, and we'll use the next couple of days to work out which combination will be best to cover for his loss."
