Titans winger heading for Belle Vue

Wakefield are set to complete the signing of United States international Matt Petersen. The 28-year-old full-back or winger has been granted an immediate release from his contract with the Gold Coast Titans in order to sign for the Wildcats. Petersen, who played in the United States' World Cup qualifying campaign last year, is believed to have agreed a two-and-a-half year contract. A former player with Parramatta, Petersen was out of contract at the end of the season and played his final National Rugby League game for the Titans against Newcastle on Saturday night. Titans managing director Michael Searle said the club did not want to stand in the way of Petersen taking up an "outstanding" overseas deal.
