Bulls starlet staying on

Bradford Bulls starlet Dave Halley has signed a new one-year deal at the Grattan Stadium.

Halley handed new contract until end of 2008 season

Bradford Bulls starlet Dave Halley has signed a new one-year deal at the Grattan Stadium. The 20-year-old winger has forced his way back from the fringes of the squad with two tries in seven appearances for the club this season. Lesley Vainikolo's exit to join rugby union side Gloucester earlier this summer has benefited the former Dudley Hill man.

Aspirations

Despite picking up a two point penalty for breaching the salary cap last season Steve McNamara's side are still well-placed for the Super League play-offs, and Halley is eager to participate. "My aim now is to hopefully play more games going into the business end of the season," he told the club's website. "I want to have a great season next year as well and earn a longer contract. "I know it's in my hands and that's the incentive - play well and get another contract." Bradford face a tough trip to the Galpharm to take on Huddersfield Giants on Sunday, as they look to close the gap on St Helens and Leeds Rhinos at the top of the table.
