Catalan Dragons head coach Laurent Frayssinous is unhappy with the 2014 Super League Dream Team selection following the omission of Morgan Escare.

The France international has been a consistent performer for the Dragons throughout the campaign and only narrowly finished behind Warrington’s Joel Monaghan in the try-scoring charts.

I am disappointed for Morgan, because he has done everything asked of him. I think there is definitely a flaw in the system.

Escare helped himself to 27 tries during the campaign, one fewer than the Wolves winger, however the 22-year-old missed out on the full-back place to Leeds’ Zak Hardaker.

Frayssinous claims there is a ‘flaw’ in the voting system as he believes that perhaps the journalists watching the games did not see the Dragons as many times as the bigger clubs.

“Morgan definitely deserves to be in the Dream Team,” Frayssinous told the League Express. “There are two reasons for me. First, he has scored 27 tries in 27 games, which is awesome.

“Then there is the second year syndrome, when you play good the first year, it is even harder to play good the second year too.

“I am disappointed for Morgan, because he has done everything asked of him. I think there is definitely a flaw in the system.

“I wonder how many journalists who have been asked to do the voting have seen as many Catalan Dragons games as perhaps they have seen Wigan, Leeds, St Helens or Castleford.”
