Bradford skipper Matt Diskin admits that the Tetley's-sponsored Challenge Cup remains one of the most prestigious trophies in rugby league.
The Bulls entertain Warrington on Sunday afternoon with the winners progressing to the last four of a competition first held 117 years ago.
Lowly Bradford are currently fighting to avoid relegation from Super League but Diskin believes it is important to keep alive their cup ambitions for this season.
The Cup is a really romantic event and every club wants to play in it. It's one of those where the underdog always has a chance and that's the position we're in.
The Odsal-based club are still waiting to hear the outcome of their appeal against a six-point deduction for entering administration and a victory over the Wolves this weekend would take them to within 80 minutes of a first cup final appearance for 11 years.
Diskin said: "There's a long way to go in the league. We're only halfway through the year so there will be lots of ups and downs before that's decided.
"The Challenge Cup is welcome for us. Coming off the back of a decent win last week, we want to keep building.
"The Cup is a really romantic event and every club wants to play in it. It's one of those where the underdog always has a chance and that's the position we're in.
"We want to keep the run going for as long as possible because it keeps morale high and keeps everything rolling.
"That underdog tag is there for us. We've nothing to lose, nobody is expecting anything of us.”
As for opponents Warrington, they are the modern kings of the Challenge Cup, having triumphed at Wembley three times in the last five years.
Their coach Tony Smith said: "We've had some good times in the cup and it gets you excited each time it comes around. It is very special.
"The fact you've got to perform on the day is a big thing. It's a big achievement when you get to the final and perform but it's about concentrating on each and every game and we're intending to play our best rugby league on Sunday.
"If we do that, it will take a great performance from Bradford to stop us."
