Joel Moon: Backed to ensure Leeds cross the line first on Monday

Sky Bet

It's the return of Monday Night Super League live on Sky Sports in Round 15, with a repeat of four of the last six Grand Finals offering a treat of a curtain raiser.

Despite prevailing in all of those finals, Leeds Rhinos do not have a great record against St Helens in regular Super League rounds.

They can take pride, however, from their league form this season as they have not lost in their last seven outings and, after being knocked out of the Challenge Cup last week, will be hurting.

With a point to prove, they will be out of the blocks quickly and that is why I am going for a Leeds try as the 'First Scoring Play' at 13/8.

The champions have scored the first try on nine occasions this season, while their opponents Saints have conceded first seven times.

In contrast to Leeds' form, St Helens have struggled in 2013 winning just six times and are only just on course for the play-offs, sitting in eighth position in the table.

Nathan Brown's men will be buoyed by the fact that they have beaten Leeds 27 times in Super League history, however injuries have taken their toll in 2013.

With a number of teenagers in their squad, expect the experience of the Rhinos to tell in this one and come out strong after last weekend's cup defeat.

Giant strides

The Champions were humbled in the Challenge Cup last week by a strong Huddersfield side who face a resurgent Widnes side this time around.

Rather surprisingly, the Giants only receive a -8 handicap at 10/11 this week, but they do have a terrible record at the Stobart Stadium.

The Giants have not won away at Widnes since March 2004 which has probably affected this week's handicap, but they are a much-improved side since.

Since 2007, Huddersfield have only failed to make the play-offs once - in 2008 - and currently lie in second spot this year.

Widnes, on the other hand, have struggled since making it back into Super League last year, winning just 11 games in 40 games after their return.

That's why I expect the Giants to overcome the 12 point deficit this week against Widnes.

If Huddersfield had been given a -12 handicap for every game so far this term, they would have beaten it on eight occasions and, more often than not, covered it comfortably.

Not only that but they humiliated this week's opponents 62-6 less than two months ago.

This week's double - a Leeds try and Huddersfield on the handicap - works out at 5/1.

View from the Sky Bet trading room...

"Bradford have the shortest handicap of the weekend as they face bottom club Salford but the Sky Bet punters have been lapping that up.

"Although they have had a slump in form recently, the Bulls have beaten the City Reds on 23 occasions in Super League with Salford winning just seven.

"Since the start of this season, Wigan have moved from 11/4 to 8/11 to finish the season top and they continue to be popular on the weekly handicaps.

"This week, they have been snapped up at -16 against London so we now have them at -20."
