Sam Tomkins: Scored one try and created another in win over Salford
Sam Tomkins put in an impressive display on his first appearance of 2012 as Wigan claimed a 16-10 pre-season victory over Salford.
The England full-back scored one try and created another as the Warriors stepped up their preparations for the Super League season with a win at the City Reds' Community Stadium.
Tomkins sent winger Pat Richards over for a fifth-minute try and but Danny Williams had levelled the scores by half-time.
However, Tomkins then opened up the home defence to touch down himself on 56 minutes, with Richards' conversion opening up a six-point lead.
Liam Farrell then burst through for the decisive try before former Wigan prop Iafeta Paleaaesina scored a late try for Salford, which Daniel Holdsworth converted.
