Joel Monaghan: Climbed into first spot on the try scorer charts last week

Sky Bet's rugby league expert gives his insight into this weekend's Super League odds.

Hull FC hit the headlines this week by announcing the signatures of halfbacks Leon Pryce and Marc Sneyd for 2015.

Unfortunately, that won't aid them as they try to bounce back from their second form slump this season.

A last minute draw at Wakefield last week was a 'get of jail' performance but I can't see the same for them at home to Warrington this week.

The Wolves are flying at the moment - they've moved from 10/1 into 9/2 for Grand Final glory in recent weeks - and with such a small handicap of four points this week, they are a good start for the weekend's double.

Tony Smith's men are undefeated in their last six games at the KC Stadium so the early price of 4/7 seems very generous too.

To put that into context, they were 4/9 last year - but the Airlie Birds were in a better position then.

Lee Radford has relied heavily on young full-back Jamie Shaul this season - he's scored 13 tries this term and had a hand in three scores at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.

He'll be popular again in the try scorer markets and looks like good value at 12/1 to cross the white wash first.

Favourite in that market is - of course - Joel Monaghan.

His two tries against Bradford last week took him to the top of the try scorer charts and I wouldn't put it past him to make it a double at the KC again this weekend at 9/4.

Rampant Ryan

Hot on Monaghan's heals is Ryan Hall of Leeds who will be on the flank against Wakefield this week.

The Rhinos winger scored a hat-trick in this fixture two years ago, yet his try against Catalans last week was his first in five.

His slight dip in form is precisely why you should be backing him this week.

His price of 8/13 to score anytime would be a lot shorter had he scored in each of his last five so, despite it being odds on, he is good value to claim a try against his West Yorkshire rivals.

To give your accumulator an added boost, you may be interested in Hall's price of 13/8 to score a brace against Wakefield this week.

Fiddes Fancies

Warrington -4 and Ryan Hall to score a brace - 5/1

Senior Says…

Saints -6 & Tommy Makinson to score - St Helens look like they have found their early season form again, especially after a great win against Wigan last week.

When Saints play well, Makinson scores, so I expect the two to go hand in hand this week.
