The Red Devils have dropped out of the top eight following their recent slump to pile the pressure on new coach Iestyn Harris although they could leapfrog their 10th-placed opponents with a win.
Salford coach Harris brings back full-back Jake Mullaney in place of loanee Greg Eden, who cannot play against his parent club, and adds second-rower Matty Ashurst, Stuart Howarth and Theo Fages to the team that lost to Catalan Dragons.
Hull KR coach Craig Sandercock refused Eden permission to play for Salford, saying: "We wouldn't want him playing against us at this stage. Most clubs with a short loan agreement in place don't allow their players to play against them."
Meanwhile, Sandercock makes one change to the side that lost narrowly to Widnes last time out.
Jason Netherton is recalled in place of prop Jonny Walker, who is suspended.
