Super League report: Bradford Bulls hit back to beat London Broncos
Last Updated: 06/04/13 5:44pm
Jarrod Sammut bagged four tries as Bradford stormed to a 46-20 victory over London Broncos at Wycombe.
Sammut kicked seven goals for a 30-point haul as the Bulls maintained their promising start to the Super League campaign.
Kieran Dixon scored a first-half hat-trick for the host who nevertheless slipped to a sixth successive home defeat.
The visitors made the brighter start with Sammut just held up as he looked to twist his way over the line, while Michael Channing denied Brett Kearney as he looked to squeeze in at the corner.
But the Broncos repelled those thrusts and took the lead with their first bout of pressure, Michael Witt working his way over after the Londoners moved the ball left then right.
The Bulls kept on the front foot though and after Broncos were pinned in their own half by a succession of penalties, Bradford struck back to level when Danny Addy wriggled through a couple of tackles to touch down.
Having broken the London resistance, the visitors then moved into the lead on 25 minutes, Sammut delaying his pass to allow Chev Walker to burst through a gap and score at the posts.
But, having worked their way into a deserved advantage, Bradford then gave up a try, a loose ball being seized on by Dixon who raced in to score.
And buoyed by that the Broncos then moved back into the lead before the break, Dixon pouncing for his second when he gathered a clever Tommy Lee kick.
There was still time in the half for Dixon to complete his hat-trick, swooping on another loose ball to storm home from inside his own half.
Errors peppered the opening moments of the second half, but Bradford narrowed the gap on 46 minutes, Elliott Whitehead bundling in at the corner.
The pace slowed after that, although both sides were still trying to play an expansive game, and the Bulls moved back into the lead on 56 minutes, Sammut touching down when he reached Gale's kick through ahead of Alex Hurst.
And it was that man Sammut on the scoresheet again minutes later, finishing off a break from Elliot Kear.
The scrum half then completed a hat-trick of his own with 15 minutes to play, stepping inside the Broncos defence for a clear run to the line.
But Sammut still was not finished, racing clear to touch down at the posts after a tired London defence had parted ways.
Whitehead rounded off the scoring in the final minute, taking a long Gale pass to stroll over.
