Verdict

John Ferguson: "He was very disappointing at Fakenham but I think that was trainer error. He schooled very well at home but there you have to jump well and be handy. Everything was happening a bit quick and he was getting a bit buzzy. There's nobody better than Denis at settling them but when they kicked off the bend he was in trouble. He was able to get in a rhythm and he was jumping much better. When he came back from Fakenham it was like, 'I've got the hang of this now, boss', and he was much more relaxed. He's a confidence horse. We'll just go somewhere steady and try and do the same thing again as he's an older horse so he has to learn to enjoy it."
