Beacon Lodge has been the best recent winner of this Listed race and it's unlikely that TELL DAD is going to go on to any great heights. He has, however, enjoyed a hugely successful second half to his juvenile season and proved a real money spinner for connections with a win and a second place finish in sales races on his previous two starts. He's a straightforward ride and ran on strongly to post a career best but it would be a little surprising if connections don't allow him to take up his entry in next week's horses-in-training sales as there will be more options for him abroad. Saigon was well supported to uphold the Middle Park form and he may well have done so granted a clear passage but Johnny Murtagh contrived to find all sorts of trouble aboard the colt who finished the race off strongly once he had extricated himself. He has been a solid performer for his yard this season, his pedigree suggests that he could train on next term where he may again be able to hold his own in minor Group races. Hazaz has twice finished well beaten behind the winner in sales races and ran a career best in significantly closing the gap but it would be dangerous to overestimate the merit of his performance. Producer has progressed through nurseries and may yet have a future in handicaps next season if this run hasn't blown his mark. Red Art may already be a shade high for handicaps but he ran his race on his first start since August after a busy mid-summer and has held his form well; he may not be easy to place in the short-term. Oxford Charley was quite well touted after showing a good turn of foot to win his maiden but never threatened and it's unlikely that this was his running.
