Verdict

An impressive performance from ESTRELA to maintain the good run of form being enjoyed by both her trainer and jockey. The daughter of Authorized had shown ability on debut at Salisbury behind Oxford Charley who ran in the second race on today's card, the Group Three Horris Hill Stakes. She was a shade keen early on that day but settled well this time around having jumped sharply as her jockey gradually edged to his right to join the field having raced in a straight line through the first furlong. Always travelling well, she quickened impressively in the closing stages to pull right away from the field and looks a smart middle-distance prospect for next season when she should be able to pick up some Black Type. There was significant market confidence behind Westwiththenight who had shown ability in a useful conditions race at this track over seven furlongs. She was always perfectly positioned and simply couldn't live with the winner but remains a nice prospect for next season. Caitlin just held on for third having raced prominently throughout and this was an encouraging debut from a filly whose juveniles often benefit from their initial experience. She is bred to come into her own over a trip next season. Miracle Maid is a half-sister to the same connections Oaks Trial winner Miracle Seeker and was another to make a pleasing start to her career; connections will be hoping that she can emulate her sibling in picking up some Black Type next season. With the field bunching up against the stands' side rail there were always going to be a number of the field short of room and Gallipot - who was nibbled at in the market - was one of the chief sufferers. This was an encouraging start from the second foal of Sun Chariot winner Spinning Queen and she looks to have a future. Kogershin only really plugged on from a good racing position and didn't significantly step up from her debut but Silence Is Easy showed ability and looks capable of picking up a small race.
