Verdict

A very taking debut success for FALLEN FOR YOU, who, unsurprisingly, was entered into many 1000 Guineas markets. She wasn't the quickest into stride, and seemed to dive to her left after 400 yards. She travelled well into contention, but once again moved out to her left with two furlongs to run. Once asked to quicken she really moved through the gears though and soon put the race to bed. Well-clear at the line, she proved relatively hard to pull up, and this was a performance of some potential. She is bred to improve as a three-year-old, and looks overpriced at 25-1 for Newmarket; that may not last long. The way she finished her race here would give hope to her getting 1m4f, and as she is unlikely to be rushed, this half-sister to a winner over that trip, could also have Epsom in her sights. Second home, doing best of quite a bunch, was Rhythmic. She came with an effort near the winner but just lacked her turn of foot. However she held off the rest and will have learnt plenty from the run. Next in was Buzkashi, another to make a very pleasing debut. She was buried away for a long way but made up her ground on the leaders quite nicely. Once switched to the outside she had to be driven but kept on running and was doing her very best work late on. She's quite stoutly bred and looks a certainty for next time. Narrowly beaten in fourth, and doing best of those with experience, was Farleaze. She travelled well but still looked green when shown the whip. A big eye-catcher in fifth was Specific who was nearer last than first with a furlong to go but picked up well between runners and should have learnt plenty, whilst Defy The Odds is stoutly-bred and just got a bit outpaced before running on. She will improve for a sterner test of stamina, a comment that also applies to Aniseed. Eastern Destiny's run can be forgotten as she was badly short of room when the pace quickened and had shaped quite nicely prior to that.
