REQUINTO secured a first Glorious Goodwood winner for rider Wayne Lordan in the second colours of Michael Tabor and his partners. Drawn in the highest stall of all - he was able to track the early pace though he was switched around towards the centre to secure racing room inside the distance and ran on in the style of a horse who could go on to stay an easy six in time.
The race saw them split into two groups with Charles The Great, Pyman's Theory and On The Dark Side keeping to the centre of the track while the majority kept nearest the far rail. The former running a very solid race under the circumstances and never being too far away from the action that was taking place
Vocational (drawn six) generated plenty of early pace and blazed the trail with Powerful Wind. Both would ultimately pay for their labours though Mark Johnston's filly continued to give her all when the pack closed upon her.
Burwaz broke smartly and got across to the rail under Richard Hills. Ordinarily, one would imagine that this would be where the fastest ground would be so it would be a harsh call to blame the rider on this occasion. The way in which he kept to the task suggests that he looks very much one to keep on the right side of.
Crown Dependency kept on from the rear to be fourth. A winner over six furlongs in the past, he will do better when returned to that trip.
Stonefield Flyer gives the form a solid look while the O'Brien first string, Boris Grigoriev was outpaced in the initial stages and passed beaten horses close home.
