A pulsating finish to this Group 1 as REWILDING collared So You Think in the final 50 yards but it was the start that had the biggest bearing on the outcome. So You Think's pacemaker Jan Vermeer missed the kick completely from the stalls which meant the first 100 yards saw the field set a married man's pace behind Debussy with the hot favourite rather too keen for his own good. He was lit up further as Jan Vermeer gave him a bump up the rear end as he tried to get through to the front and it was two furlongs before Jan Vermeer cut across (again impeding So Yoy Think slightly) and started to inject some pace. Things settled down somewhat from Swinley Bottom as Jan Vermeer went eight lengths clear and it was off the home turn that So You Think was committed by Ryan Moore. He opened up by two or three lengths but never really got a decent break on the field as Rewilding swung wide with his challenge and went in pursuit as he hit top gear from two furlongs out. So You Think was still two lengths to the good just over a furlong out but Rewilding was inching closer and finally hunted down his rival deep inside the distance. This was a lung-bursting display by both horses and neither deserved to be beaten. The early stages clearly upset So You Think and the energy he expended proved to be crucial while the winner settled nicely in rear. The latter is clearly a tip-top performer on his day and showed he is best when having a break between races. It is hard to say the So You Think bubble has burst after such a brave defeat. The Eclipse and/or the King George back at Ascot will remain on the agenda and you can be sure that Ballydoyle don't make a similar tactical cock-up next time. Sri Putra emerged from the also-rans to pip Planteur for third spot while Twice Over delivered a short-lived effort in the home straight but trailed in well beaten. Debussy was chopped for room on the home turn by Sri Putra, stumbled quite badly and was eased in the home straight.
