The betting suggested that HEZMAH would play a major part in the race and that was certainly the case as this tall filly made most of the running and shot away in the final 100 yards for a decisive success. She was quickly into stride and moved into the front-rank by Richard Hills but always looked to be travelling well within herself. Two furlongs out she moved through to challenge Cheherazad and it was clear that she would master that rival as the pair moved clear. She doesn't have any fancy entries but looks a filly of real scope and potential and it will be a surprise if she doesn't pick up some black type by the end of the season. Trainer John Gosden suggested she may well head to Ascot next for a conditions race. The first two raced prominently, and given the race wasn't run in a fast time, it was probably an advantage. Cheherazad finished second and provided a further indication that Paul Cole's horses are flying. She was keen enough early on but then settled into a nice rhythm and really strode out well; she was well-clear of the rest and looked unlucky to bump into a potentially very smart filly. Third was Misrepresent who really caught the eye late on. She was only in about eighth position with two furlongs to run but she powered home under William Buick having been outpaced before halfway. There were plenty of promising runs in behind, not least Rougette who stayed on from off the pace for fourth. She looked to be a little outpaced when they started to sprint for home, and was also done no favours by some bargaining involving Doricemay ahead of her. Fifth was Sure Route who wasn't given a hard time. She was quite keen in the early stages and didn't immediately pick up when asked; after that Richard Hughes was pretty easy on her and she rates better than the bare result. Vicona travelled well for a long way towards the outer of the field but probably paid the price late on for racing without cover as she tied up late on, but still finished just ahead of Federation who should have learnt plenty. This half-sister to Attraction looks as if she needs a mile already and could never land a blow from off the pace. Further back Lightning Spirit shaped with promise, running on quite nicely. She had tracked the winner throughout but just lacked a turn of foot. Pinch Of Posh travelled nicely towards the near side but didn't really pick up when asked, whilst Doricemay showed good early pace but couldn't sustain the speed and she wasn't knocked about after suffering some interference.
