Jean Claude-Rouget saddled a one-two as three-year-old LILY OF THE VALLEY wore down Stacelita. The favourite looked all over the winner when quickening two lengths clear nearly two furlongs out but she couldn't resist the runner-up's persistent challenge. It wasn't until the final 100 yards that she surrendered the lead but the winner was well on top at the line. The winner is absolutely thriving, is seven from seven, and it will be interesting to see if she heads to America to take on Midday in the Filly & Mare Turf. Stacelita lost little in defeat and if Christophe Soumillon got the chance to ride the race again, perhaps he'd delay her run a little longer. Field Day was always in a good position but just wasn't good enough, a comment that also applies to fellow British raider Nouriya who made some late headway.
