Verdict

David Pipe got on board for Cheltenham 2010 thanks to BUENA VISTA who responded to a very good, positive ride from Haddon Frost. The blinkers were re-fitted for the first time since he was second off this mark in this race last year and he lead from flagfall and stayed on well up the hill to repel all challengers. Prince Erik got closest to him, just, as he edged out Chamirey for second while Cross Kennon stayed on through beaten horses for fourth. Alfie Sherrin was disappointing, always in mid-division and never landing a blow, while Ainama travelled really well but found little at the business end. He could win off this mark over a shorter trip. Last year's winner Kayf Aramis ran another good race but was just edged out of the places in the final furlong.
