Verdict

A royal winner looked on the cards when Golden Stream struck the front at the furlong marker but MONEYCANTBUYMELOVE had The Queen's colours in her sights and she cut her down inside the distance before drawing away to win cosily under Jamie Spencer. Once again all the action took place under the stands' rail on the straight course and those towards the centre were well fended off - they included the likes of Arabian Mirage, who had led the field for three quarters of a mile before fading out of contention. Please Sing and Silver Games were third and fourth for Mick Channon, the former reversing form with some rivals from earlier in the season as she seemed to appreciate the step up to a mile. Wajaha travelled well towards the middle of the track for some way but was another nowhere near the action as it unfolded at the business end while Good Again looked to have a chance as the tempo increased but could only keep on at the once pace in sixth.
