Verdict

This race was notable for the interference caused by American challenger Yogaroo a furlong from home who hampered Monsieur Chevalier and the winner RADIOHEAD. That Brian Meehan's charge recovered superbly to win by two lengths is evidence of his superiority over the field and he is value for at least another length. Yogaroo tried to burn off his challengers as his stablemates had done earlier in the week but he tired after three and a half furlongs, knocking into Monsieur Chevalier who in turn nearly put Radiohead through the stands rail. Jamie Spencer snatched up his mount before unleashing a fresh challenge up the rail and he won going away. He's smart and should be effective over six. Reignier ran a blinder to finish second and Tawaabb was a creditable third. Monsieur Chevalier should be given another chance seen as he was badly affected by the interference.
