Verdict

Michael Bell came via York a few seasons ago with Motivator on the way to Derby glory at Epsom and he looks to have another very good chance of a Classic on the Downs with SARISKA. Her Oaks credentials were very much put to the test after an unfortunate return in the Fred Darling and the step up to a middle distance trip showed her in a very positive light. She had the race in the bag once hitting the front inside the final quarter and she really powered all the way to the line under Jamie Spencer. Early reaction for the Oaks was to cut her to 5-1 but that looked too big and soon evaporated - quotes of around 3-1 fairly reflect her chance. Star Ruby is not in the same league at the moment as the winner but this was a hugely encouraging display and Peter Chapple-Hyan should get a decent race out of her at some stage. Market leader Enticement is a big, scopey filly and ran as would be expected on such fast ground - feelingly. She did not pick up under Ryan Moore and finished well beaten. She won't be risked on going this quick again and will be a different proposition with some give underfoot. High Heeled had made a good impression at Newbury with an eyecatching turn of foot but was another not entirely at ease with the quick conditions. She can bounce back as well.
