Godolphin got off the mark for the meeting thanks to FLYING CLOUD who ran out a ready winner under Frankie Dettori who notched his 41st Royal Ascot success. His involvement was key as he settled his filly at the head of the chasing pack as Anice Stellato ran free up front in the first-time blinkers. Leocorno and Take The Hint ran in snatches but Flying Cloud was always going well and she responded immediately when asked to win her race by Dettori. She took up the running early in the straight and kicked a couple of lengths clear, with nothing looking likely catching her. The Irish Oaks is next on the agenda and she will rank high in the betting there as she is still improving. Henry Cecil's Flame Of Gibraltar ran on well without ever looking likely to challenge the winner, with Uvinza running a good race in third. Leocorno looked tapped for toe and Take The Hint did her best work at the finish.
