SEA THE STARS answered any question marks over his stamina with an imperious display to stamp him the best three year old around at the moment. He became the first horse since the mighty Nashwan in 1989 to complete the Newarket Guineas-Epsom double and there was not a moment during the race that he did not look like winning in style. He was keen early on but still pulling double approaching two furlongs out and once he hit the front nothing was going to get past him as he stayed on right to the line. Favourite Fame And Glory was plunged on before the off and while the winner eased into the race, Seamie Heffernan had to throw the kitchen sink at his mount to get competitive. To be fair, Fame And Glory answered every call and kept on bravely but he didn't have the pace to reel in the winner. Masterofthehorse and Rip Van Winkle completed a Ballydoyle 2-3-4 but both were left floundering when the winner went on and neither could make up sufficient ground to land a blow. Golden Sword gains plenty of marks for keeping on in fifth having been right in the driving seat for much of the trip with Age Of Aquarius. Crowded House led home the British hopefuls but was a respectable distance back in sixth place.
