Verdict

It looked like an ultra-competitive event but DUNGUIB turned the bumper into a procession as he scooted home unopposed to win by 10 lengths. His rider even had to take a pull entering the straight so he did not hit the front too soon. The favourite Rite Of Passage crept into contention coming down the hill but could not live with the winner and even lost second spot to the late finishing Some Present while despite fielding eight runners, trainer Willie Mullins' Quel Esprit was his best-placed finisher in fourth.
