Verdict

Run at a cracking pace and half a dozen came to the last with a chance but filly SILK AFFAIR stayed on stoutly to win. She joined the action turning for home but looked second best to the cruising favourite Alexander Severus approaching the last. But the hotpot emptied in the last two furlongs and only just clung on for fourth. Ski Sunday and Saticon plugged on gamely to take second and third but the winner was long gone.
