Jeremy Noseda highlighted his return from a quiet spell as SIXTIES ICON stamped his class on this Group 3 contest under man-of-the-moment Johnny Murtagh. He was in the best place possible as the pace lifted and never looked like being passed once hitting the front approaching the distance. Lion Sands was also well placed but is not as classy as the winner to be fair - he kept on well for third nonetheless. Galactic Star was held up well in rear in the early stages and was finishing best of all. It is not an easy task giving an on-song Sixties Icon a head start though but remains capable of picking up a lesser Group contest at some stage in proceedings. Tranquil Tiger travelled well in first-time blinkers and looked a threat but his run flattened out a little in the closing stages. Shahin was also trying the headgear for the first-time and he took the field along until inside the final couple of furlongs. He was squeezed for room by Lion Sands and Foxhaven on the far rail and was eased thereafter. German raider Dickens was another to make progress from the rear but could not land a telling blow.
