Verdict

This marathon trip clearly plays to BADDAM'S strengths and he bounced back to form with a gutsy win. Johnny Murtagh brought his partner with a perfectly-timed challenge but options are somewhat limited for him from here. Few got into this with Inchpast and Mith Hill the only closers from off-the-pace. Keelung set a ferocious gallop up front and only cried enough from two furlongs out. He shaped as though still in peak form - a comment that also applies to Tomina. He chased the leader throughout and still finished in the frame despite David Probert having a problem with the reins inside the final two furlongs. He is in the form of his life but sadly pulled up sore.
