Verdict

There was only one horse in this from the two-furlong pole as PATKAI handed out a real thrashing to his rivals. Ryan Moore had his mount settled much closer to the pace than at Haydock last time and once he pushed the button he had things sewn up as he romped seven lengths clear. Sandown winner Amerigo had the lead for a couple of strides but his resistance was futile. To be fair, he kept on gamely to take second place and proved he stayed the two-mile trip very well. Gravitation was sent off at 33-1 but ran a race full of promise, travelling well in mid-division and not backing down when the pressure was applied. She will now be aimed at the Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster over a couple of furlongs shorter.
