One favourite has won this in ten years and winners have been returned 28/1, 25/1 and 20/1. Kingsgate Choice won in 2013 and has mainly confined to better class events subsequently. He shouldn't be dismissed and a low draw should aid his cause. Monsieur Joe didn't get the best of runs in the race a year ago after winning his previous race on the track a couple of weeks earlier. He was beaten by RED BARON at Thirsk last time and Eric Alston's charge has a real chance of continuing his winning run here with Neil Farley's claim a major plus. Tim Easterby loves these York sprints and the veteran Captain Dunne arrives on a hat-trick though the consistent Mappin Time is well enough treated to go well for the yard. Chester winner Lexi's Hero enjoys a bit of cut in the ground so Friday's rain will help though a wide draw isn't ideal nor is it for the consistent Normal Equilibrium.
