Verdict

Ralph Beckett's French recruit Love Over Gold made a very encouraging UK debut at Salisbury under a big weight and her only success came on ground with plenty of give. Amethyst Dawn would appreciate more rain as she loves soft ground though she's never won beyond a mile. After scoring at Epsom, Baqaat may have found the going too fast at Nottingham and will be more at home in these conditions while Tenby Lady is better than her form figures suggest as she got no sort of run at Lingfield last time. Certral is untested over the trip or on ground with give so this can go to ELMAAM. Willie Haggas' filly made most over a mile at Newmarket to complete her double but fought back when headed and looked as though a longer trip was certain to suit.
