Verdict

As ever this is a fiercely competitive handicap and WALKING TALKING is only a speculative selection. Warringah, who was last seen finishing down the field behind his stablemate, Conduit, in the St Leger, is an obvious alternative, while Redesignation and Electrolyser are others capable of going close and merit a second look in the betting market. The last named may have been over the top when he was last seen in action but may be a different proposition now he has been given a bit of time. Clive Cox's horses are flying at moment and this Daylami colt is a solid proposition to make the frame. Given his record of three wins and five placed effort from 12 starts, Redesignation is also a candidate for inclusion as a Placepot banker. He handles most types of ground and will be a tough customer to deal with - especially from a favourable low draw. This is in direct contrast to Warringah, who will be in the thick of the rough from stall thirteen. Sir Michael Stoute's colt does have a touch of class, though. And Stoute is never a man to leave out of the equation when he sends one to the Knavesmire. However, Henry Cecil has also got his string on the boil just now and Walking Tall can do the former champion trainer proud with a big run today. The son of Rainbow Quest faced some stiff tests after he won his maiden at Sandown last summer but still performed with credit. This galloping surface will play to his strengths and, having blown the cob webs away in a Group 3 at Newbury last month; Walking Tall is fancied to appreciate this ease in grade this afternoon.
