Verdict

Championship Point, Crocodile Bay and Genari are the three that form the shortlist in the finale and the vote is given to Championship Point. The selection made a winning debut over 6f when beating Genari at Newbury. His dam, Flying Squaw won a Group 2 race in Germany and his trainer Mick Channon thinks today's trip will bring about further improvement. He should have ground conditions to suit and he looks the one to beat. Genari is by Derby winner Generous and has only had the two runs. He finished narrowly behind Championship Point on his debut and then won last time when beating Don't Dili Dali. He did nothing wrong that day but he did have the best of the draw and he will need to improve to get the better of our selection. Crocodile Bay stumbled out of the stalls before being well-beaten in a Listed race at Epsom last time, and although he has caught they eye over 5f, it remains to be seen whether today's trip will suit him. High Command made a pleasing debut over 6f at Wolverhampton behind Brenda Meova. He was doing his best work at the finish that day so should be suited by this extra furlong. Global Genius is another who will appreciate this extra furlong and the form of his debut third at Doncaster has since been franked. In The Fashion showed promise on her debut at Haydock and is another to consider, but for the winner we will return to Mick Channon's colt Championship Point.
